The EU4Digital Justice project aims to tackle key challenges in the justice service delivery in Albania through technological innovation and institutional strengthening. Some of the critical challenges in the system that it will address include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Outdated processes;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fragmented case management;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Limited use of technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of judicial institutions, the project will contribute to strengthening the rule of law in Albania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will be achieved through:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technical Horizontal Assistance to the IT Centre and Judicial Institutions to ensure interoperability <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">between the justice system&#8217;s components and the systems<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creation of a modern, functional, and interoperable Case Management System for the General Prosecutor\u2019s Office (GPO);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Establishment of a Statistics and Business Intelligence system.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ultimately, the EU4Digital Justice project will serve as the technological foundation to modernize Albania\u2019s justice system in line with EU standards, building greater trust in the country\u2019s judicial institutions.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Albania&#8217;s journey toward EU accession involves a crucial transformation of its justice system.
