  1. To reduce the volume of waste sent to landfill: diverting waste flows from landfills to recovery\/recycling will reduce leachate production and pollution of groundwater or surface water as well as reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere;<\/li>\r\n \t
  2. To reduce waste sent to newly established landfills: this will also lead to a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions;<\/li>\r\n \t
  3. To reduce pollution of the coasts of Albania and its neighbours by marine waste;<\/li>\r\n \t
  4. To increase recycling of waste and to shift focus from waste management perspective to an industry\/business perspective, with waste seen as a material to be re-injected in the production (manufacturing businesses, recycling industry, tourism, agriculture, catering and respective stakeholders). This will reduce the extraction of virgin raw materials and, consequently, the pressure on the environment and scarce natural resources.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nThe project is part of the EU\u2019s larger \u201cEU for Circular Economy and Green Growth\u201d programme for Albania, which will also address alignment to EU legislation, introducing Extender Producer Responsibility policies, and mobilising communities and the private sector in circular economy and green growth.\r\n\r\nThe project is in line with Albania\u2019s National Waste Management Plan (NWMP) for the period 2020-2035, and will be an important milestone towards the implementation of EU compliant reforms and investments related to the circular economy and green growth","ptb_euprojects_expected_resultss":"

    1. Infrastructure capacities supporting circular economy and green growth, resource efficiency, recycling and reuse is increased at regional level;<\/li>\r\n \t
