Overall Objective

The Overall Objective (OO) is to contribute to the effective and sustainable re-use of confiscated assets in Albania from organised crime by civil society for social purposes.
The Specific Objective (SO) is to strengthen social enterprises in managing the confiscated assets based on social agriculture models with benefit to the employment of vulnerable groups in the area of Tirana and Durres municipalities.

Summary of the Project

This Programme will contribute to the effective and sustainable re-use of confiscated assets in Albania from organised crime by civil society for social purposes. The
practice through which confiscated assets are made available to communities, not only will allow the involvement of civil society in the fight against organised crime, but will also increase the trust in institutions and the rule of law, and will enhance the CSOs capacities to effectively engage in the decision-making process and to support the development of innovative social entrepreneurship models.

Activities

Project steering bodies and operational structures set up:

Activity 0.1. Setting up of project bodies, facilities and technical documentation;
Activity 0.2. Signature of Memorandum of Understandings with relevant institutions social agriculture initiatives managing confiscated assets from organised crime are supported including financial and technical assistance;
Activity 1.1. Public consultations with local stakeholders and potential applicants for confiscated assets;
Activity 1.2. Development and launch of the Sub-granting scheme for social agriculture initiatives;
Activity 1.3. Technical assistance (mentoring) to the selected social agriculture initiatives on innovative and green businesses

Know-how and technical capacities of youth- and women-led economic initiatives in the field of social agriculture are increased:
Activity 2.1. Organisation of a Study visit in Italy on social agriculture for confiscated assets;
Activity 2.2. Training on social agriculture and bio-ethical brand development;
Activity 2.3. Organisation of an apprenticeships and traineeships on social agriculture programmes for young and women agriculture entrepreneurs relevant stakeholders’ awareness on the re-use of confiscated assets is raised;
Activity 3.1. Organisation of advocacy-related initiatives.
