The Byllis Archaeological Park is one of the most significant archaeological sites of Albania. By Decision of the Council of Ministers no. 396, issued on 31.3.2005, the area was proclaimed as Archaeological Park of Byllis, including zoning and regulation of administration.
Cultural heritage is a powerful development asset that can help attract tourists, bring revenues, regenerate local economies, promote inclusion, boost cultural diversity and enhance territorial identity. The project considers cultural heritage as a key driver to inclusive growth. The Action will contribute to change through short-term, intermediate and long-term outcomes in three domains: Inclusive approach, Participatory approach and Capacity-building identifying interventions – in well-defined contexts – jointly with beneficiaries and end-users. The projects targets local economic development through enhancement of the site’s touristic potential.
