Overall Objective
To help reduce the environmental and health impact of solid waste in Gjirokastra/South Vlora and Kukës waste areas.
Summary of the Project
The project will help reduce the environmental and health impact of solid waste in Gjirokastra/South Vlora and Kukës waste areas and improve the living conditions of 190,000 inhabitants in these regions.
Activities
The activities related to increased infrastructure capacities supporting circular economy and green growth, resource efficiency, recycling and reuse include studies, investments in terms of works and supply of equipment, technical assistance to support municipalities and their utility companies in managing the new infrastructure, as well as public campaigns and awareness raising.
Expected Results
- Infrastructure capacities supporting circular economy and green growth, resource efficiency, recycling and reuse is increased at regional level.
- Regional (zone) waste management systems and related infrastructure) facilities are supported to operate fully in line with circular economy.
