Overall Objective
The main objectives of the project are the contribution to the development of social economy; fostering the inclusive development of the country through the creation of successful models of sustainable social enterprises; and the improvement of the legal and practical environment that enables sustainable sources of funding for CSOs.
Summary of the Project
The project was designed to contribute to the development of social economy and the inclusive development of the country by supporting initiatives on social economy. The target groups of the action were:
- civil society organisations (CSOs) and social enterprises
- public institutions at the central and local level
- business community and business associations
Activities
• Designed and delivered programme to increase the capacities of Albanian CSOs to initiate and / or strengthen social enterprise initiatives that foster inclusive development
• Designed and implemented Social Entrepreneurship Innovation Sub-granting scheme to support CSOs implementing social business initiatives that contribute to increased employment and development of local communities
• Networks and partnerships between CSOs and the business community to ensure alternative sources of funding for CSOs through innovative fundraising models are established
• Concrete proposals for a legal and regulatory framework ensuring sustainable sources of funding for CSOs are prepared and presented to public institutions through an advocacy campaign
Expected Results
• Creation of approximately 12 successful models of sustainable social enterprises responding to societal and environmental challenges, and fostering inclusive development, in partnership with the private sector
• Improved legal framework and practical environment that enables sustainable sources of funding for CSOs
