Overall Objective

Summary of the Project

The current Customs Clearance building was constructed in the late 80’s and was partially
refurnished in 2002. The “Phase I” of the improvements of Morina BCP has started under IPA 2009
Programme. This was finalised with the construction of a bigger parking area for heavy vehicles.
“Phase II” of the construction works of Morina Border Crossing was covered under IPA 2012 Programme.

The main works financed from EU funds are:

  • The new “Facilities block” (Old Administration building)
  •  The new “Administration building”
  •  The re-designed “Forwarders block”
  • Completely rehabilitated and widened canopy area (12 Lanes)

Additional works were part of the design study, on which the EU contract is based, but are carried
out by the beneficiary.

  •  The new Inspection and VET building
  •  A new Bus terminal – Albania
  •  A new Bus terminal – Kosovo
  •  A new Incinerator plant
