Overall Objective

The overall objective is to: Accelerate tourism development of Lezha and Gjakova regions through increased diversity and quality of touristic offer by unveiling cultural and historical wealth resulting in increased attractiveness of the CB region and growing number of tourists.

Summary of the Project

Tourism is an important and rapidly growing sector within the national and international economy, boosted by the development of new tourist markets. Tourism in both countries is increasingly crystallizing as one of the main engines of economic development although the development of tourism in Albania and Kosovo is still far from the potentiality represented by each country’s natural, historical and cultural assets. Although there is a demand for services for a long period of the year, tourism in both municipalities has a highly seasonal character so there is the need to mitigate the seasonal effects through the development of other forms of tourism, increasing the number of visitors and consequently tourism revenue.
