Overall Objective

The project aims to contribute to the enhancement of the economic competitiveness of the area through the increase of its tourism potential.

Summary of the Project

The project contributed to tourism development through joint valorisation and promotion of the archaeological and cultural heritage of the area.

Activities

  • Two major archaeological sites in Albania and Montenegro excavated
  • Tourism info-point constructed at the Hoti Basilica location
  • Pedestrian street to the Hoti Christian Basilica constructed
  • Roman road structure connecting fortresses along Prevalis /Moesia Limes mapped and surveyed
  • One multilingual augmented reality mobile app serving as tourist guide developed

Expected Results

  • New (unutilised) archaeological (cultural) sites in the cross-border area excavated, conserved and valorised for tourist use
  • Cross-border cooperation in the field of archaeology and cultural heritage enhanced
  • Newly discovered archaeological sites (participating sites) promoted for tourism use
