Overall Objective

The project aims to strengthen agricultural SMEs’ productive capacity and access to European markets through certification of Food Safety Standards, through capacity building to absorb EU funds as well as through development of marketing strategies.

Summary of the Project

The project provided producers and processors of meat and dairy, fruits, nuts and MAP (Medicinal and Aromatic Plants) with internationally recognised certification of Food Safety and Standards; it incentivised trade with EU markets and increased productivity through the enhancement of internal capacities for production, management and marketing.

Activities

  • Certification of agribusinesses and provision of tailored trainings in order to enhance awareness about the importance of certifications
  • Training of 180 agribusinesses in order to increase awareness about the available grants and alternative financing investment opportunities and to increase skills necessary for the absorption of funds
  • Customised marketing strategies provided for 20 agribusinesses
  • Building agribusinesses brand identity

Expected Results

  • 20 certified agribusinesses through four certifications
  • Up to 15% of the certified number of agribusinesses owned and/or managed by women
  • 15 business plans provided
  • 12 advanced trainings conducted
  • 180 employees / participants trained
  • 20 marketing strategies developed
  • Increased annual turnover of agribusinesses targeted by the project
